This is how it should be, not attention seeking just every day life. American retailer Target release their new in store magazine or catalogue, in which their children’s clothing section includes images of Ryan a child model (Far left in orange) who just so happens to have Down Syndrome. Targets images of Ryan don’t make him out to be a special child struggling with Down Syndrome, but shows him to be like every other boy in his age group to which he is. An article from Ad weekly quotes his mother as saying “she is proud that her son is making the Down Syndrome community proud”.
It is fantastic to see that disabilities are becoming less and less of an issue in society and are positively accepted by audiences, brands and businesses, it gives others hope for the future.
